At Cloisters, we’re committed to providing tenants and visitors with modern, sustainable facilities. As part of this commitment, we have an active capital works program to improve, revitalise and redevelop our precinct.
The following initiatives are currently progressing as part of the program:
Solar Panel System
We have installed a number of solar panels to offset the main power supply to the building. The solar system will help to reduce our power costs through a renewable energy source and will significantly reduce the impact of our energy consumption, reducing our carbon footprint.
New Courtyard Staircase
A staircase from the Courtyard to Level 1 is being installed to allow easy access from our office tower to our retail arcade. The stairs and railings are to be installed in September and have been designed by the Buchan Group, who were involved in the 2014 building refurbishment. We have engaged Davidson Projects for the building works.
Mechanical Works and VAV Installation Upgrade
We have recently completed a 5-million-dollar mechanical plant and VAV installation upgrade to QBE House including the replacement of the chillers, boilers and pumps along with the replacement of all mechanical pipework and main services switchboards. This is a once in a generation upgrade which will have a significant impact on energy consumption. As a result of these works, QBE House has been awarded a NABERS rating of 4.5 stars. We expect to receive a 5-star rating in 2020.
These improvements, along with future enhancements planned as part of our ongoing program, have been implemented to meet the future needs of our tenants and to ensure the maximum level of comfort and convenience to all of our visitors.
